Staff Update – COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

There have been several new developments in relation to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) over last few days, significantly the government has:

  • moved to limit gatherings of more than 500 people
  • recommended that Australians do NOT travel overseas
  • anyone entering the country from overseas now needs to self-isolate for 14 days

Supporting our clients is essential and all staff should continue to attend work as per normal however, you must advise your supervisor immediately if you are:

  • unwell
  • have recently returned from any overseas destination
  • have been advised that you have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19
  • have had close contact with someone who is currently being tested for COVID-19

What are we doing:

  • writing to our clients to ensure that they notify us if they have been overseas or are diagnosed with COVID-19
  • ensuring that we have adequate, PPE and other supplies should these be required
  • limiting visitors to our accommodation settings including non-essential contractors
  • ensuring that we have an adequate workforce to maintain services to all our clients by boosting workforce numbers and declining annual leave applications for the immediate future

What should you do:

  • maintain recommended infection control procedures
  • cancel your overseas travel plans unless it is vitally urgent
  • notify us if you are unwell or are advised that you have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19
  • notify us if someone you have close contact with is being tested for COVID-19
  • notify us if you have recently returned from overseas, we will require you to remain away from work for 14 days
  • attend one of our infection control training sessions:
    • o 17 March – 3.30pm – 74 Clayton Street, Bellevue
    • o 18 March – 2.00pm – 165 Wright Street, Kewdale
    • o 18 March – 3.15pm – 3.15pm – 165 Wright Street, Kewdale

We understand that the cancellation of travel and leave plans will be an enormous disappoint to our staff however the safety of both our clients and staff is vitally important to us.
